As a child of adopted parents, I learned early on that family law provides a unique way to touch the lives of people going through some of the toughest periods of their lives.
Now, as a family law attorney and the only Attorney and Certified Divorce Financial Analyst® professional in Southwest Virginia, I work with my clients every step of the way to guide them to a new stage in their life.
”Ms. Slovensky was amazing in handling my divorce. She is honest and trustworthy and helped me work through the details, was very responsive to my questions as the process went along, and ultimately facilitated the best outcome.

Life is full of surprises, and family life is no different.

After graduating from the University of Virginia and obtaining my J.D. from George Mason University School of Law, I began my career as a staff attorney for legal aid. I gained valuable insight into the legal system and the importance of going the extra mile for the people we serve.
I soon realized that I wanted to focus my efforts on my true passion – family law – and made the decision to open my own firm.
For many people, their family law attorney is the only person they can turn to when their life turns upside down.
But the legal system is highly impersonal, technical, and confusing.
I founded my firm with the intention of forging a path through the rules and the “gotchas” to stand with my clients and help them rebuild their lives.
My team is dedicated to doing what needs to be done to achieve the best possible result – and that includes being honest with clients about the best legal strategies that will achieve their ultimate goals.
Above all, we believe in understanding the law well enough to recognize when we can do more than just help our clients cut the pie – and when we can, instead, make the pie bigger.
